ALEXIS KARPETSKY WORKSHOP

Newport Coffee Company is located in the heart of McFadden Place and Newport Beach Pier.  Adjacent to the famous Charlie's Chili restaurant and within one of the older mixed-use buildings, this quaint 1,000 sf space offers everything a beach goer would want: high-end coffee, gelato, and fresh pastries.  The challenge was to accommodate all the programmatic requirements for a kitchen and coffee bar within the limited tenant space while still offering ample room for ordering patrons.  There were also extensive amounts of electrical and plumbing work, remodeling of the restroom, and installation of a new hvac system needed to transform the old Shell Shop, the previous tenant.  Focused on the European style of "to go" bars, the layout of the custom built bar area embraces the quick flow of orders and busy serving hours.  Newport Coffee Company also has a single drip station in their display window, demonstrating what they are all about.  Other improvements included a new outdoor covered trash enclosure, façade treatments and minor landscaping.  Newport Coffee Company opened their doors in March 2014.
